In a dark room on a cold winter's night, a friend of mine and I were trying to meet deadline on our website project in Information Technology - a course we had in High School. The framework we used was based around HTML, CSS and some JavaScript, and the scope of the work was to create a functioning website which would allow users to log in and support a cause. Combining Microsoft Visual Studio with caffeinated, although tired, brains was perhaps not a match made in heaven with regards to the project. However, some creative ideas did indeed strike us, and some were better than others. This night was unofficially the start of what would later become Nordic Web AS, a company I have founded and lead the past 5 years.
As the founder and CEO of Nordic Web, I am responsible for the bulk of the activities which make up the company. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Acquiring new customers
- Managing funnels
- Sending proposals
- Attending meetings with potential clients
- Learning APIs and new technologies to accommodate challenges.
- Lead and implement the design process
- Lead the development process in WordPress & Webflow
- Develop existing relationships to our clients
- Track progress and feedback to ensure that metrics (provided by customer) are met
- Responsible for the copywriting on Nordic Web, as well as for clients who request the service
My mission is to help companies become more successful in the digital world through the services provided by Nordic Web. I work with
well-established companies in Norway that are either willing to take their offline success online or to improve their current online presence to get more customers and build a memorable online brand.
As a web developer, I love hearing the following phrase: "The World Wide Web has come to stay."
This is true, and I do not intend to be standing on the sidelines watching it happen.
Being in the domain of web development for a relatively long time, I have come to the realization that the web has enormous power (much of which is yet to be unleashed), and how you play out your digital strategy can make or break your business. Knowing business concepts and design frameworks, I unfortunately see that there are a heap of small -and medium sized businesses who are losing on transactions because of not seeing the value a strong digital presence brings.
